Many bridges cross the River Tweed at Berwick-on-Tweed, rail and road, ancient and modern, connecting England with Scotland.
This photo shows the Royal Tweed Bridge (road) and the Royal Border Bridge (rail).
If you’ve never visited Berwick and you are in the area, I urge you to do so. It’s a fascinating town with sea and estuary views, town walls and defences and many interesting streets and shops.
