Craster is an old fishing village on the Northumberland coast. It still has a smokehouse producing kippers (smoke cured herrings) and it was smoking profusely on the day we visited.

Thank you. That is the BEST of memories. Whenever we went to Scotland (most years) we always stopped off at Craster and bought a box of kippers. Nothing, but nothing tastes like a Craster Kipper. Wonderful nostalgia enhanced with your choice of bw for the pictures.
