These photographs feature the farmland landscape within a one mile radius of my home.
It focuses on the smaller, intimate details, the micro landscapes of my surroundings. It approaches the often seen, and the mundane with a fresh eye, looking for the interaction between man and farmland and how most of our countryside is a human construct. It follows on and is influenced by the many photographers who have turned away from the depiction of traditional picturesque landscape scenes and instead engage directly with the local environment. An environment where people are rarely seen but their influence on the landscape is omnipresent.
The photographs are all black and white and in square format. The latter to give a consistency of photographic aspect and the former to concentrate on the subject without the distraction of colour.
They include both digital and film photos.

I especially like the tree shot. Lovely detail shots too, and all very atmospheric.

Thoroughly enjoyed this selection of images taken on your doorstep. I’ve switched to colour but these shots make me think I should switch back to mono!

Thanks Ian. I’d noticed your colour switch and your further investment in the Fujifilm ecosystem!
